COMMERCIAL SECTOR

INTRODUCTION

This sector was established in 1995 in order to provide services to employees and members in all commercial institutions such as Energy providers, Oil and Gas, big commercial shopping malls and automobile companies.

Activities

1. Participating in workers' Councils and consultative forums

2. Organizing and recruiting workers to become Union members

3. Participating in various stakeholder meetings

4. Lobying and advocacy for Policies and Labour laws formulation and reviews

5. Representing member in labor disputes

6. Negotiating for better collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)

7. Educating Field Branch Leaders, Members and Workers in Particular on Worker's Rights, Labour laws and Negiation Skills

8. Networking with Global Union Federations (GUFs)
