WOMEN, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT

    Introduction

    This department is responsible for the coordination and supervision of women workers, members and people living with disabilities. It also caters for occupational health and safety in the workplaces. Through this department, the union has managed to form 392 Women Committees and 570 Occupational Health and Safety Committees.

    Activities

    Among the coordinated activities include;

    1. Holding Meetings

    2. Training and education

    3. Planning and visiting workplaces.

    4. Organising and recruiting new members.

    5. Supervising and implementating union's Women and HIV/AIDS policies

    6. Protecting workers in their workplaces from risks resulting from factors adverse to health

    7. Promoting the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workerrs and union members
